Default The Return to Tyria endgame quests

Out of the three campaigns only NF has a fully fledged end game area with rewards equal to it's difficulty (well IMHO I think it's too hard but I put that down the reason that I'd much rather play with henchies and heroes than real people and that's not possible in DoA).

Cantha has no end-game quests;
Prophecies has good end-game quests with no rewards to speak of;

This is what I suggest: new end-game quests for Cantha centred around the factions in the south and their battle with demons (Urgoz and Kanaxai). An end-game quest reward system for prophecies.

---------------------------------------------Cantha:
Luxons:
Quest 1: from Elder Rhea, head to Rhea's Crater and help defend Seafarer's rest from the Horde of Kanaxai.
Quest 2: In Unwaking Waters explorable team up with the Kurzicks to close Kanaxais corruption portals
Quest 3: Explore Gyala Hatchery explorable to find out what Kanaxai wants there.
Quest 4: Defend Cavalon from the Kanaxai Horde
Quest 5: Defeat Kanaxai in the Deep

Kurzicks:
Quest 1: from Count Zu Heltzer, Scout Mourning Vale falls to see if the reports of unusual warden activity are true
Quest 2: Speak to Moleneux, "will the dredge help defend the forest against Urgoz?" Gather the three leaders of the dredge in Ferndale to hold conference
Quest 3: Destroy the 4 Warden weapon caches in Morostav trail
Quest 4: Defend House Zu Heltzer from the Wardens with the aid of the Dredge
Quest 5: Defeat Urgoz in his Warren

Each of these quest (save the last one) gives a 1k reward, 3000xp, 1k Luxon/Kurzick Faction and a Kurzick/Luxon Armory Voucher

Armory Vouchers can be trader in at HZH/Cavalon to a collector )when you have 4) for 3 pieces of K/L 15k armor (mats and price).

-------------------------------------------------
Prophecies:
* Defend Droknar's Forge
* The Last Day Dawns
* Defend North Kryta Province
* Defend Denravi
* The Titan Source

*To Sorrow's Furnace (non repeatable)
*The Final Assault (non repeatable)

Rewards: Each of the titan quests is changed to have a reward of 3000xp, 1k and a Titan's Head (collector's item)
When you have 5 Titan's Heads you can trade them to Glint for 4 pieces of 15k armor (from Granite Citadel or Marlen's Grotto)

After completing 'The Final Assault' Ennis Granitestrider gives you a 'Seal of Dwarven Might' which can be traded in Droknars for a Dwarven weapon
(which would be new skinned weapons) you also get a certain amount of faction towards Deldrimor (although until GWEN we won't know how much it should be)

The Dwarven weapons could be:
Dwarven Axe (current skin)
Dwarven Blade (sword)
Dwarven Mallet (hammer)
Dwarven Stave (for all casters)
Dwarven Crossbow (hornbow stats)
Dwarven Sickle (scythe)
Dwarven Knives (daggers)
Dwarven Javelin (spear)

This would mean each campaign has it's fair share of end game quests and rewards worth having.If this were ever implemented there should be a way to refund players who have already completed the quests needed (as the did for Razah) to avoid anger.

I understand this is really too much to ask for, but since GWEN is the last full thing for GW who knows if this kind of little addon is what Anet might add until GW2 comes out. But at least, the prophecies reward system could be implemented without making new content or testing new quests.

What do you think?

Thankyou

Mazey

The Sorrow's Furnace rewards might make Dwarven Axes a little too common for my liking and would enable people who only own prophecies to get NF and Factions weapons, which I know they can buy from others but so far there is no way to get these other than trading amongst players unless you own the campaign and that is how it should stay imo. I also think your rewards for the Titan Quests are a little too great.

Apart from the rewards you suggested I agree that the titan quests should offer more of a reward than they currently do. But on the subject of Cantha you say NF has a good endgame area but imo The Deep/ Urgoz Warren=Domain of Anguish in terms of it's endgame-ness and it does have some nice rewards from the chests at the end.

I think that:
- For Tyria, they should simply add a 'Endgame area' just like in the other two campaings. Since the Titan quests are not repeatable, they would have to reset them for all characters so they an make them again, and peiple who finished them would have to make them again, but the Endgame are would be accessible anytime you kill the lich, so that would be better. The Endgame Area could be 'Victory party in Deldrimor', where Evennia, Glint Image, King Jallis, Salma, King Adelbern and the other friends and allies you made along Prophecies are there. To prevent running and making only a couple of missions, the NPC that gives the unique reward token there to get one of the green items would require you to make all 25 missions to give the item to you.
Prophecies endgame Green items could be, for example:
- Saidra's Horn Bow.
- Shadow's Short Bow.
- Brechnar's Iron Hammer
- Rurik's Fiery Dragon Sword.
- Little Thom's Axe.
- Rurik's Shield (Tactics).
- Stefan's Shield (Strenght)
- Crystal Wands.
- Seer Staves.
Abd the tomb is mission a non-repeatable quests that is completed after beating the tombs, for example:
*Tomb Raiding.

For Cantha, it is true that the game misses non-repeatable quests matching repeatable ones.
- The Four Luxon repeatable quests shuld have one: 'Luxon/Kurzick Field Support'. You make each repeatable once, and you get the quest completed.
- Each Elite mission should have one non-repeatable quest that is completed after beating the elite mission:
*"Deep into the Oceans": Make The Deep once.
*"The Warden Warren": Make Urgoz's Warren once.

That way, if they ever add a 'quests made' title, you will have to make elite missions too.

I personally think that Nightfall's endgame area is too unforgiving and not rewarding enough, especially considering that after the 'new' wears off we'll not be able to find large enough human parties. I'm finding that when I go back to Factions or Prophecies, I can't always find enough humans to party with in some of the places, and some of the missions are simply in desperate need of more than one human player. So some balance would be nice, so that when inevitably there become less people hanging out there, we don't have to just stop doing anything there.

Personally however, I'd have liked it if they had kept things like Prophecies so that you didn't have to hit a brick wall if you didn't want to do a certain mission. The lack of freedom to explore with Factions and, to an extent, Nightfall, is a detriment to them later in the day, as I anticipated back when I started to play. Once people go to something new, it becomes harder and harder to get them where you might need them if it isn't the newest thing.

But I digress; personally I would like more endgame things to do with Factions and more reward with Prophecies. I love the world of the Kurzicks and the Luxons, but it seemed a bit wacky that after all that business with Shiro and putting aside their differences for a time, they just went back to the same old, same old. Certainly it is due to the longevity of Alliance Battles and so forth, but some explanation (like maybe 'we're doing these battles to keep ourselves mindful of the struggle between our people that has ended, and furthermore it lets them get out their aggressive energy') would be nice, as well as a follow-up in terms of storyline to the world that we came to love.

Anyway, that's just my two bits. Personally I have never really done much with the Titan quests, because to me they're kind of dull and, as stated, don't have much reward to speak of. Perhaps if they were more rewarding, I'd have had more incentive to put more into them.

I think Prophecies should have an endgame area. The old Team Arena place by Droks would work just fine. Make only armor and weapons for the CORE professions Thats what I think.

Nay, make them for all, and add spears and scythes to Cantha.

That would be better.

That sounds like a good idea. Would help cartographers a bit too, though I do have 100% already so people can't accuse me of wanting a cheap and easy title.

As I showered tonight, I thought that this is what we should do:

1) Get a soloution a lot of people agree with for Prophecies. I think Prophecies is kinda getting gyped. They need to go back and fix some things in it to bring it up to par IMO.

2) Once we find a relatively decent soloution,and a decent amount of signatures on this, email Anet with a link to this thread saying "Look we want this, and we got proof. This would be nice to implement, and we've been pro-active and used the forums." EotN is close to being finished, if its not already, and GW2 is far away. They can spare a few people to work on GW1.

So heres what I propose. Make another mission past Hell's Precipice. Call it...oh i dont know, The Bloodstone. I'm not up to par with game lore so if you can think of a better title, throw one out. Anyway, this would be where you fight the Lich. And the Lich would get better skills. It would be like fighting Shiro or Abbadon (but make the Lich harder, hes more of a badass). In order for this to be done, the Lich needs his own skills and stuff. So you'd have to beat another mission in Prophecies. Is that such a bad thing? I'd personally ENJOY more missions.

At the end of Hell's Precipice (currently) your characters sail back to Droks. Instead of going straight to droks, they could go to the old Team Arena place by Droks. Here they can get some core class only weapons. Like:
Quote:
- Saidra's Horn Bow.
- Shadow's Short Bow.
- Brechnar's Iron Hammer
- Rurik's Fiery Dragon Sword.
- Little Thom's Axe.
- Rurik's Shield (Tactics).
- Stefan's Shield (Strength)
- Crystal Wands.
- Seer Staves.
If you wanna add Sin, Rit, Derv, and Paragon stuff in too, thats fine with me. Maybe make even Core only armor sets. I dont know.
This is just my opinion

**EDIT**: If you wanna throw in some spears and scythes and daggers, heres some names for 'em
For Tyria
Daggers: Glint's Fangs
Scythe: Soul Harvester
Spear: Hellspike

Of course, if you add daggers, spears, and scythes to Tyria, your gonna have to add scythes and spears to cantha
For Cantha
Spear: Naginata (its a type of ancient japanese pole-arm. it was used by members of the samurai class)
Scythe: Karite (accodring to my friend, this is japanese for reaper)

I think English would be a much better choice for these words, but I am being urged right now to use japanese words...whatever...so if you can come up with better names for anything, pit 'em out

It would be great if Anet did more retrofitting to earlier campaigns with mechanics that most players enjoy with the newer campaigns.

Like they've done with the insignias for armor. It may take a little longer for endgame areas and quests, but it would definitely add more interest to those players that have only purchased one of the later campaigns.
